the week

In approximately a week, I'll be leaving all I've ever known and embarking on the adventure of a lifetime. I'm terrified, ecstatic, and a serious procrastinator. My fear has crippled my packing expertise and has left me staring at a disaster of a bedroom, full of school supplies, clothes, totes, shoes, and five Bibles. What to take? What to take? What to leave, so that I don't have to pay a fine for an overweight checked bag?! How could I possibly pack a year of my life into an oversized rolling duffle and a backpack? I know what you're thinking. Just take a deep breath kiddo. It's only nine months. In the grand scheme of a lifetime, what's nine months? Well let me tell you. It's everything! It's not just nine months, it's nine months of the present. It's nine months that will be the hardest, hottest, scariest, and most rewarding of my life. Until I get pregnant I suppose...

Random desire of the day: To climb that water tower across from Barlow High School.

Hey dear. I just posted a similar post. Crazy, you would think we were embarking on the same adventure. Don't worry. It will also be the longest we ever get to drop life and just live missions. God won't just leave us stranded there. We think we have plans with all of our lists, but he definetely has it worked out. Love ya and can't wait for that long flight to far far away with my friend. :)

Oh my goodness....I finally figured out how to sign-up for a blog account (took me long enough, huh?) Anyway...from my journal, dated 07/21/07:

Lord, give me the strength to accept the things I cannot change... She's not even gone yet, and I miss her so much! Please give Kayla and Ashley strength, courage, wisdom, and the ability to read/understand/write/understand/speak/understand Spanish within a week!

I love you more than words can say!
